EVENT RECAP
2022-2023
Sustainability With PVH
February 21st, 2023
We had an exciting event for those interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry. Attendees had the opportunity to sit in conversation with Eurelle Hao, Senior Director of Sustainability and Inclusion at Calvin Klein and PVH America, who leads the sustainability and inclusion initiatives for the company. As a Rutgers alumna, Eurelle shared her expertise and insights with the attendees, providing valuable information for those looking to break into the industry. We hope that those who were able to attend were inspired by Eurelle's passion and knowledge, and left with a better understanding of what it takes to succeed in the fashion industry.
Ross x FORM
February 16th, 2023
For anyone interested in pursuing a career in the fashion industry, we hosted an insightful virtual event with Ross! Attendees had the chance to learn about the company, as well as receive valuable advice on identifying their skill sets and finding the most suitable roles for them. This session was particularly suitable for those who were curious about the diverse range of careers available in fashion, such as Buying and Planning. Students were able to gain a better understanding of the industry and the potential career paths it offers.
Jewelry Making Workshop
December 6th, 2022
FORM hosted a Jewelry Making Workshop at the Livingston Student Center Coffeehouse. Attendees had the opportunity to learn how to make their own wired jewelry, perfect for spicing up their outfits and trying something new. All materials were provided, and participants enjoyed some snacks and music during the event. As our last event of the semester, we hoped to see a great turnout, and we were thrilled with the enthusiastic response we received. We hope that everyone who attended had a great time and left with some beautiful new pieces of jewelry to add to their accessory collection.
Coffee Chats With Tapestry
November 14th, 2022
FORM hosted a virtual networking event for individuals interested in pursuing a career with Coach, Kate Spade, Stuart Weitzman, or Tapestry. The Tapestry Internship Program was a focal point of the event, and it was specifically designed for rising juniors, seniors, and recent graduates across all functions of the business. Graduates interested in the company's year-long Brand Creative and Design Apprentice Program were also provided with more details. Students found the event to be informative and engaging and it led to exciting career opportunities for those interested in working with Tapestry.
Upcycling With RUThrifty
November 10th, 2022
In November, FORM collaborated with RUThrifty to host an upcycling event. Students were able to unwind while transforming their old t-shirts into customized tote bags. While supplies were provided, students brought their own pre-owned clothing to transform. The event was successful and we loved to see so many people interested in sustainability and upcycling. Students that came had a great time and that they were able to take home some amazing new customized tote bags to be proud of!
ThredUP x FORM Clothing Swap
October 14th, 2022
Last semester, FORM partnered with the ThredUp team to host a clothing swap on campus. Students were invited to bring in any clothing items they no longer wore or wanted to trade in exchange for new pieces on-site. ThredUp is an online consignment thrift store that aims to promote sustainable shopping and help solve the fashion waste crisis. By swapping clothes with others, students were able to promote circularity within the fashion industry. We were excited to see so many people interested in sustainable fashion and reducing textile waste. It was a great way to bring the Rutgers community together and encourage sustainable practices. We're looking forward to hosting similar events!
Virtual Retail Career Fair
September 29th, 2022
FORM was excited to host its 9th annual Retail Career Fair virtually this school year! The event was designed to give students an opportunity to speak with representatives from a wide range of luxury companies. Participating companies included PVH, Ross, Bloomingdale's, Saks, Macy's, and Burlington. The career fair was an exciting and valuable opportunity for students who are interested in pursuing a career in the retail industry, as it gave them the chance to network with recruiters and learn about different career paths within the industry.
